Reporting to the Manager, Global Talent Rewards and Wellness, the Senior Advisor, Global Compensation is responsible to support our initiatives global compensation programs and activities with the objective of enhancing Fednav's ability to attract, retain, motivate and engage employees. This role will also partner with the Talent Management team, Payroll team and our workday HCM Lead to support operational and reporting items in our Workday HCM ecosystem, assisting also with enhancements, and supporting the integration of future acquired modules. Additional responsibilities include project coordination, along with standardization of current incentive and compensation programs, including Pay Equity.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

Compensation & Rewards

Facilitate the design, implementation, and administration of our global compensation philosophy and strategy, programs, policies, and procedures. Provide ongoing consultation and subject-matter expertise to the Talent Management team on compensation-related policies, programs, practices and administration. Lead annual market benchmarking and alignment with market practices and trends, to ensure the organization is equipped with relevant data on market rates to drive data-informed compensation decisions. Responsible for the Promotions process and collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team for salary recommendations in the New Hires process. Coordinate activities relating to the job evaluation committee. Responsible for the salary mapping structure and maintenance in our HRIS. Prepare our global annual compensation review cycle including budget calculations, training materials, advanced comp configurations and testing, performance review cycles, etc. Administer annual salary review and bonus cycles in Workday. Provide support to the TM team and the leaders during the process. Prepare analyses, reports and follow-ups to ensure compliance with directives, deadlines, and budget. Support day-to-day compensation operations, which may include elements of international mobility in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Payroll. Carry out assigned projects in line with the function's annual objectives, such as updating salary structures and analyzing employee salary positioning. Produce reports and analyze compensation data to support merit budget, salary structure management and incentive plan pools and audits. Participate in the development of effective communication tools for all our programs in collaboration with the Communications team. Continuously seek out and identify areas to improve systems, assess impacts and recommend changes to maximize efficiencies. Support the Global Talent Rewards and Wellness Manager in compensation-related matters and special initiatives and projects.

Human Resource Information Systems

Ensure data accuracy and maintenance of the HCM and Advanced Compensation modules in Workday. Participate in a variety of projects related to Workday and associated business processes. Assist with configuration, testing and validation related to system changes (requirements gathering through to implementation, documentation, end user training and communications).  Work with the team to design and assist with reporting from Workday.

Annual Requirements

Determine salary and benefits forecast for the company salary budget Provide the company vacation accruals for budget purposes Provide the information on transfer pricing to the Fednav Tax Department Responsible for the annual Employment Equity report Responsible for the Pay Equity Act (exercise or maintenance) Work with Finance and Tax departments for annual audits

WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related discipline CPHR designation, an asset A minimum of 8 years or more of relevant experience in compensation preferably in a company with an international scope Expert proficiency in Excel including ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets, formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, etc. Experience working with an HRIS (such as Workday HCM) is considered an asset Strong communication skills, working with people at various levels of the organization, including C-Suite leaders, employees and managers Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, and complex matters Ease in building relationships and partnerships and to create an environment filled with collaboration, change and innovation Proactive and strong organizational skills A natural ability to work in a fast-paced environment with consistently changing priorities Bilingualism, French and English, oral and written
