Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal Intern to join our legal team. As a paralegal intern, you will assist Legal Counsel and experienced paralegals in various matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Paralegal Studies intern to gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional legal environment. Your responsibilities as an intern may vary depending on the needs of the legal team, and you will be involved in both business-critical and administrative tasks. You will have the opportunity to prepare legal documents, perform research, and communicate with various business lines in the organization to track contractual and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do:

Manage internal files and projects; Draft pleadings and contracts; Research legal issues; Maintain deadlines; File court documents; Assist in trials, hearings and mediations as needed by Legal Counsel; Liaise with internal stakeholders, including management; Present internal CLEs for internal departments; and Help with administrative tasks.

What You’ll Bring:

Enrolled in a paralegal diploma or certificate program at a recognized BC institution; Eligible for or currently holding a BC Paralegal Association Membership; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; Highly organized, attentive to detail and has the ability to prioritize efficiently; Strong time management and multi-tasking skills; Ability to meet and communicate important deadlines; Ability to deal with confidential and business sensitive information; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment; Self-starter with a high degree of initiative; Proficient in MS Office and Outlook;
