The Opportunity:
The CLC Fitness Centre is looking for energetic, motivated, and dynamic individuals who want to work in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate must have excellent communication, and administrative skills. This position will report directly to the Community Learning Campus Manager of Fitness and Recreation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service.Data entry, and general administrationAddressing clients questions, & concernsMaintaining a clean and safe fitness facilityChecking equipment and reporting any repairs or maintenancePerforming assigned cleaning tasks and organizing fitness equipmentDevelop comprehensive knowledge of Fitness Center, services, and schedulesMaintain operation of the fitness centre (opening and closing of the facility).Attend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings and in service trainingsProcess registrations and point of sale items and appropriate paperworkMaintain an understanding of all health and safety, and emergency protocolsEnforce Fitness Centre Rules and RegulationsSkills, Abilities & Attributes:
Able to work well with others and independentlyAble to take initiative within given guidelinesAttention to detail, order and cleanlinessEnergetic, flexible, and professionalEffective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)Able to organize large groups while managing time and resourcesHave strong interpersonal skillsAble to adapt in a fast pace, constant changing environmentAble to maintain composure and objectivityAble to handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.Experience and Education:
The successful candidate must be returning to High School or a post-secondary diploma/degree program full-time in the 2023-2024 academic year.The successful candidate must have current First Aid/CPR, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search. Related experience working in a fast paced environment will be considered an asset. The incumbent must be comfortable with engaging the public and possess the ability to work with minimal supervision. Individuals must be able to work early morning, evening and weekend shifts.Please apply by June 14, 2024.
