LyfeDesign.com is seeking a reliable and organized Human Resources Manager to join a Hospitality Group in Toronto / Canada. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing all human resources related functions and administrative HR support to ensure efficient operation of the day-to-day business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Responsible for the oversight of the human resources department
  • Responsible for the hiring process for all restaurant employees and for the corporate office
  • Liaise, coordinate and solve employment related issues such hires, terminations and exit interviews
  • Employee onboarding
  • Establish, and maintain HR policies, and ensure distribution and familiarization to all employees corporate and non-corporate
  • Immigration coordination, if applicable
  • Coordination of work permits, if required
  • Assist team as required on training
  • Support Corporate office and restaurant managers in developing training strategies and motivation strategies
  • Oversee and coordinate the analysis of employee data and information
  • Point of access and coordination with management for all employee questions and complaints
  • Liaise with external HR consultants, HR lawyers and HR suppliers as required
  • Organize staff consultation and grievance procedures
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
  • Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessment
  • Assist in all payroll procedures
  • Creation and management of an Equality and Inclusion Department
  • Developing and implementing policies and guidelines aimed at promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion within the organization or community.
  • Training and Education management and all staff by providing training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives to raise awareness about diversity issues, unconscious bias, and inclusive practices.
  • Provide support to advocate for the rights of marginalized or underrepresented groups and providing support services to address discrimination, harassment, or inequality.
  • Monitor and Evaluations of diversity metrics, conducting surveys, and evaluating the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion initiatives to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implementing strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, including outreach efforts to attract candidates from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Ensuring that facilities, services, and information are accessible to individuals with disabilities or special needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to equality, diversity, and inclusion, including anti-discrimination laws and affirmative action requirements.
  • Establishing any other initiative to foster a culture of respect, acceptance, and equality within an organization or community, and in advocating for social justice and equity for all individuals.

Job Requirements 

  • Experience and Knowledge Needed
  • Strong knowledge of the hospitality, restaurant, and food services industry is a must in Ontario.
  • 5 years of Human Resources management experience in Ontario, preferably in hospitality operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated, enthusiastic with a Can-do attitude, proactive and resourceful.
  • Handle a dynamic and busy work environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Building positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Human Resources Bachelor's degree
  • Must have expert knowledge in full-cycle recruitment, thorough pre-qualification screening, behavioral interviewing, and closing professional-level candidates across multiple levels and disciplines.
