#PlantManager - Manufacturing

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our mattress manufacturing facility. This role involves managing production, ensuring quality, and achieving efficiency goals while maintaining a safe work environment. The Plant Manager will lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and production staff, implementing best practices in manufacturing, quality control, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Plan, organize, and manage the overall production process, ensuring compliance with quality standards, production schedules, and cost targets.
Monitor and optimize production workflow resource allocation, and machinery usage to maximize efficiency. Ensure effective implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
Team Leadership: Oversee recruitment, training, and development of production and supervisory staff to build a high performing team.  Foster a positive workplace culture with a strong focus on teamwork, accountability, and safety.  Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and establish individual and team performance goals.
Health and Safety Compliance: Develop and implement safety policies and practices to minimize workplace hazards and comply with local and federal regulations.  Conduct regular safety audits, provide training, and ensure that all employees follow safety protocols.
inventory and Supply Chain Coordination: Ensure efficient management of inventory and raw materials, coordinating with purchasing and supply chain teams to prevent shortages and delays.  optimize inventory levels, working closely with logistics to meet customer delivery schedules.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.  Proven experience (3+ years) in a manufacturing plant management role, preferably within the mattress or similar industry. Strong understanding of production planning, lean manufacturing, and quality management systems. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams. -Proficiency in production management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.  Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Skills: Lean Six Sigma certification. Experience with inventory and supply chain management. - Familiarity with automated manufacturing technologies.
