A newly formed Regional Operations Team will provide operational support following the regional Epic go-live in December 2021, to the seven (7) acute hospitals in the Central East (CE) region: Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highland Health Services, Lakeridge Health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital and Scarborough Health Network. These organizations have been on a clinical transformation journey to implement a shared, regional Epic CIS solution as well as a number of regional third-party applications since July 2019.
The Technical Specialist will provide ongoing support and project work, including building; updating and maintaining health care interfaces and software. The role will design, develop and implement data integration solutions using Cloverleaf interface engine with Epic Bridges and 3rd party applications.
They will report directly to the Interface and 3rd party Application Manager and work closely with both the Epic Support teams, technical teams and 3rd part application SMEs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement data integration solutions using Cloverleaf interface engine
• Support and monitor live interfaces
• Troubleshoot issues as needed as part of production support or testing
• Coordinate network changes with technical team
• Work closely with the stakeholders such as the application teams, technical teams and internal/ external members to ensure that interfaces meet the needs of the end users
• Proactively suggest/implement interface solutions to improve interface performance
• Participates in Clinical and Technical Design Sessions as applicable
• Participates in remote on-call support rotation as required

Requirements:

• University degree or combination of equivalent education and work experience
• 3-5 years′ experience in managing interfaces with a strong understanding of HL7
• Must be familiar with operation of interface engine, preferably Cloverleaf
• Epic Bridges certification is an asset
• Experience with clinical EMRs with a knowledge of how data is interfaced between various clinical applications.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work with a team, skills to understand, debug and define next steps
• Knowledge of hospital network and / or system architecture and TCP/IP protocols
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Office, Project and SharePoint
• Well-developed communication skills: oral, written and interpersonal
• Ability to organize activities involving the various stake holders to design, configure, and test interfaces.
