Fatigue Science is the leading provider of predictive human performance insights to mining, trucking, and heavy industry.

We are looking for a dedicated Product Owner to join our growing team. 

At Fatigue Science, we develop a SaaS platform that leverages Machine Learning and scientifically-validated biomathematical models to quantify and predict the effects of sleep disruption on reaction time and cognitive effectiveness – ultimately saving lives while increasing productivity for mine sites, trucking fleets, and other heavy industry organizations. 

Growing 75% in the past year, we’re proud to have achieved product-market fit, and was recently recognized by the US National Safety Council with its 2022 Safety Innovation Award for our pioneering work in the field of Predictive Fatigue Management. We are a venture-backed organization of around 50 employees.

As a Product Owner, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day activities of our product development process, for our suite of products under the Readi brand (ReadiSupervise, ReadiAnalytics, ReadiDispatch, ReadiWatch, ReadiSync, and ReadiOne). You will also assist in a variety of other product, product marketing and customer-related activities.

Reporting directly to the SVP of Product and Marketing, you will be responsible for writing and modifying tickets, defining clear acceptance criteria, receiving and triaging feedback from the engineering team, developing story maps for product requirements, among other aspects of the Product-Engineering lifecycle. You will also contribute to the product roadmap by working closely and collaborating with customers, partners and the Fatigue Science customer success and sales teams collecting, analyzing and triaging product feedback and synthesizing a point of view on what should come next on the product roadmap.

Role Overview:

Write, modify, and manage tickets and acceptance criteria in an Agile Development Process Receive feedback from the engineering team about the engineering lifecycle and triage it effectively Visit, interview and collaborate with customers to gain insight on their operational processes, procedures, challenges and opportunities. Engage in story mapping to ensure product features and functionality align with overall market and customer requirements and product vision. Contribute to the product roadmap by working with Fatigue Science’s Customer Success and Sales teams, visiting and interviewing customers and collecting and triaging product feedback and future requirements. Perform market research in the sleep and wearable space Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and communication across the organization

Requirements:

1+ year of experience in a product owner or similar role, preferably in a SaaS or mobile-related business Strong understanding of Agile Development Process and best practices Proven ability to write clear and concise tickets, acceptance criteria, and product documentation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work closely with engineering and design teams, including being present in our Vancouver office at least 1-2 days per week

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with Fatigue Science's product suite and the predictive analytics space Experience with machine-learning enabled technology Experience with enterprise software designed for complex organizations Experience with Material UI or similar UI frameworks Proven ability to understand nuanced scientific products Passion for safety and/or heavy industry
