About the Job:

The Registered Nurse:
•Provides nursing care to OR patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
•Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
•Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
•Maintains and advances own clinical competence
•Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

This is a RELIEF PART-TIME (0.74 FTE) opportunity until October 10, 2024, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, Monday to Friday, with an on-call requirement; shift hours rotate from 07:30 to 15:30 hours.

About this location/unit:

The Operating Room Department handles general surgery, some gyne-surgery, urology, ortho-arthroscopy and hardware removals (but not total joints), Dental surgery and emergency Ophthalmology. There is a high number of C-sections. As well, we run an Endoscopy Room (gastroscopies & colonoscopies). Recovery Nurses do post-op recovery.
