This position is responsible for leading two teams. i) a team of rehabilitation case managers who deliver cost effective, innovative rehabilitation services for group benefit plan members as rehabilitation professionals. ii) a team of Training Specialists responsible for delivering claim adjudication and disability claim management training, quality auditing for new and existing disability claims staff, and ownership of department procedure management. 

How you will create impact:

Ensure that rehabilitation plans developed by individual team members are appropriate, cost effective, proactive and implemented in a timely and effective manner. Establish strong partnerships between the rehabilitation and claims teams to ensure the common goal of effective and proactive case management is achieved. Develop procedures and processes to closely monitor the effectiveness of rehabilitation services delivered by rehabilitation team members. Identify, investigate, and recommend new and innovative approaches to the provision of rehabilitation services. Implements goals and strategies to ensure that the Training Specialists delivers on quality auditing procedures management and training programs influencing Disability Claims department results. Proactively manages workforce resourcing ensuring the availability of adequately skilled claims resources for work volumes and demand changes. Leads change by identifying opportunities for change, preparing plans, assessing scope/impacts, implementing change, providing information and support, and monitoring progress. Mitigates and resolves escalated claim situations. Manages performance through the ELEVATE program, including the planning, assessing, and review phases and ensuring understanding of job and performance expectations, taking steps to remove barriers to success, facilitating empowerment, encouraging accountability and providing appropriate rewards and recognition. Managing performance and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.

To join our team:

You have 5 years of disability claims/rehabilitation case management experience You have 2 years experience in leadership You have a post secondary degree or University degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences or Disability Management. You have an Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) designation. You have an expert understanding of disability claims management practices. You have an expert understanding of group and/or individual disability insurance contracts. This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment. Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Expected Salary Range: $69, to $115,
*The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
