Job Description

AECOM's cultural resources team is currently seeking an applicant for an office position providing laboratory support to senior and field staff in the London, Ontario office.

The key responsibilities are to contribute to report composition, data management, cultural material processing and analysis, tracking and administration. In this position, you will work closely with AECOM senior staff and must have a willingness to learn and develop professionally where required.

This will be a full-time role starting as soon as possible.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this position your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Intimate understanding of the cultural history of Ontario.
  • Cultural material analysis and cataloguing.
  • Well demonstrated research and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated dedication to following and promoting a strong health and safety culture.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Dedication to mentoring junior/field staff with laboratory skills.
  • Firm understanding of the MCM Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a cultural resources related field (or in progress), such as heritage, anthropology etc.
  • Minimum of 4 years working in an archaeological laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years working in an archaeological laboratory.
  • Experience writing archaeological assessment reports.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario MCM heritage planning and archaeological legislation.
