Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for Intern, Engineer to join the team.  This position reports to the Supervisor, Project Engineering in the Transmissions Pipeline Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina’s Operations Division. 

 

Pembina's transmission pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in Western Canada and the United States. Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines.

This is a 16-month co-op placement starting in May, 2024, located in Calgary.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
  • Provide Management of Change – Asset (MOC) support to Subject Matter Experts (SME) on technical issues;
  • Enhance the AMOC process, including developing progress tracking tools and creating/updating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards;
  • Provide technical support to SME for Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and AMOC scopes of work;
  • Provide technical support to SME for reliability program, which includes data protection, reliability dashboards, and KPIs;
  • Provide technical review of pipeline crossing and encroachment requests;
  • Perform and document engineering assessments of appropriate level technical issues and make recommendations for resolution;
  • Provide technical support to pipeline internal corrosion management program;
  • Provide technical support to pipeline location class change impact assessment; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
     
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying civil, mechanical, process or chemical engineering and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term;
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required;
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail;
  • Strong computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); and
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Pembina's core values (Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, Entrepreneurial).

 

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary, AB.

 

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
