Due to continued growth in our businesses, we have a requirement for an AME Apprentice to join our Team at our Peterborough, Ontario location.

General Accountability

AME Apprentice is responsible for knowledge of piston, turbo prop, jet aircraft and the maintenance applications associated with them. Furthermore, including but not limited to repairs, modifications and inspections on aircraft structures, systems and equipment.

Specific Accountabilities

Visually inspect, assess, and assist in repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, systems, and equipment. Remove, install, and functionally test aircraft components. Dismantle and assemble aircraft systems for repair and overhaul. Remove aircraft control systems, check rigging, and re-assemble. Diagnostically troubleshoot aircraft defects and carry out corrective action. Complete records of work done to sustain an accurate record system. Ability to interpret blueprints and written technical instructions. Must perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines. Performs work in a productive, diligent, careful and safe manner. Complete any special projects or other tasks as required or assigned. May be assigned to other areas of operations, based on business or customer requirements. Works in compliance with all Administrative, Health & Safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in Company policies. Any other job-related duties assigned by department management

Experience and Education Requirements

Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational/technical training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with Transport Canada accreditation, is required.

Skills/Abilities

Good mobility, manual dexterity and physical condition to work in areas within the aircraft where access may be limited. Ability to maintain professional work habits at all times. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet research. Good administration, organization, and planning skills. Able to work both independently and within team environment, where tasks maybe shared or reallocated daily. Must have flexibility to adapt to changing demands and schedules, including needs of the organization. Good attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills. Posses excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective relationships. Ability to understand and follow supervisor's direction. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
