Overview

Hexagon Autonomy and Positioning (A&P) is looking for Test Engineering Manager, Agriculture to lead the testing of hardware and software for our Agriculture products in the spaces of GNSS, GPS, Inertial Navigation Systems, Vehicle Navigation, Tractor Steering and Guidance, Precision Agriculture, Perception for Autonomous Tractors, Sensor Fusion and Camera based navigation.

Reporting to the Senior Agriculture Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and leading best software and systems test practices while maintaining and expanding the Test Infrastructure depended on by the engineering groups. This role offers the chance to deliver step changes and lead a team using modern technologies and practices.

Responsibilities

As our Agriculture Test Engineering Manager you would be responsible for: 

Promote best practices across software and systems testing Provide Functional management and technical leadership of the team Accountable for the Ag Test Infrastructure and assets including maintenance, expansion, and improvement Collaborate with the Chief Engineers/Technology Managers, Developers, and Systems Engineers to drive team’s execution for verification/validation of agriculture product releases (software & hardware: GNSS/GPS/INS positioning receivers for vehicle navigation and precision agriculture. Integration with tier 1 tractor and agricultural robot manufacturers.) Work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders in Agriculture Engineering, Core Engineering, Project Management, and Software Infrastructure to identify, prioritize, plan and resource tasks. Develop, communicate and execute plans efficiently with team buy in Manage backlog and technical debt while balancing these with development initiatives Develop, iterate, monitor, and report performance and contextual metrics. Drive a culture of initiative, innovation, accountability, quality and continuous improvement Anticipate and organize education and training of the team, with both external and internal sources Provide frequent performance feedback, coaching, career growth Represent the team and its interests in management meetings and initiatives Generate and communicate a compelling vision for the team Have overall accountability for the team’s actions and results Participate and provide contribution to Hexagon A&P’s Test Engineering Community of Practice

Qualifications

Must-Have:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics or related. 5+ years minimum experience in systems, hardware or software test design & execution, or development with a large proportion of testing. 2+ years supervisory experience, training, and mentoring others Excellent organizational and planning abilities and can clearly communicate ideas and solutions to others Possess excellent analytical skills and be able to produce high-quality processes, procedure, and workflows that ensure high quality results from the team Valid driver’s license & vehicle

Nice-to-Have:

Previous agriculture/farm experience Experience with test automation and/or worked within a formal software testing environment Experience of web-based bug tracking and project software (e.g. JIRA ) Experience with data analytics to process and visualize complex product performance data sets Scripting experience using Python Understanding of GPS/GNSS technology and products. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Operators License Experience with Systems Engineering, V-model or ASPICE
