Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the manager of the OCD Program and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, the Psychologist I provides consultation, diagnostic assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with OCD and other co-morbid mental health disorders, associated developmental, cognitive and behavioral disorders. Service delivery may include liaison and collaboration with relevant community agencies, including case conferences. A family-centered approach is utilized, and an understanding of parental mental health is required. Primary treatment modalities include assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy. Experience working with OCD is required, as well as a broad range of other child and adolescent mental health disorders, including Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar Disorder, for instance. The ability to provide a differential diagnosis based on the DSM V is required. The position is currently working in the OCD Program, based at RRDTC. The position is a permanent FTE (4 days per week). Days of work are Tuesday – Friday.

Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Brain Story Certification preferred. Connect Care training preferred. Group therapy experience preferred. Experience working with OCD and ASD preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving trained preferred.
