**Your Opportunity**:
The Calgary Zone, Addiction and Mental Health (AMH), Decision Support Team (DST) consists of three teams - an Education Team, a Clinical Informatics Team, and an Evaluation Team. The successful applicant will work within the Education Team; as a member of this team, they will individually, and in collaboration with other team members, be responsible for: the design, development and implementation of asynchronous learning, the design, development, implementation, and facilitation of instructor lead, synchronous, learning, ongoing assessment of the quality and relevance of existing courses that are owned/maintained by the team, and ongoing assessment of the learning needs of Calgary Zone AMH. Learners include a diverse group of health professionals working within Calgary Zone AMH such as: nurses, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, occupational therapist, recreational therapists, addictions counsellors, and administrative and support staff. DST owned/maintained courses range from targeted courses aimed at very specific staff groups (e.g. search in My Learning Link, “Creating a Welcoming & Engaging Environment - Calgary Zone” for non-clinical staff) to mandatory education required for much larger groups of staff (e.g. “Addiction and Mental Health - Nonviolent Crisis Intervention - Half Day Refresher - Calgary Zone” for all clinical staff). The successful applicant will conduct all work using evidence-informed adult education practices and instructional techniques, relevant to both asynchronous and synchronous learning environments. This position reports to the Manager of DST.

**Description**:
As an Education Consultant I, you will be working closely with other interdisciplinary professionals with a variety of backgrounds where you will be responsible for delivery of patient-centered education in area(s) of expertise to staff, patients (clients, residents), families and internal or external care providers. Education may be presented formally (classroom) and/or informally (one-on-one) and in a variety of settings from clinical, classroom, to hospital in-patient. This will include building partnerships with and acting as a resource to specialty services partners, community partners, and other AHS zone programs and staff. You will also provide patient assessment and counselling as part of education process, where required. You may identify education opportunities, assist in content development, analyze and evaluate services, and work with internal staff to schedule classes and identify locations. You will build new partnerships, implement new initiatives and promote your assigned program.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of recognized post-secondary program in a health or education related field. Active or eligible for registration with applicable regulatory body.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Master’s Degree in relevant field. 3-5 years of experience in AMH; experience ideally combines time as an Educator and as a Clinician. Current certification as an Instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI). Active Session Coordinator for My Learning Link. Experience managing projects of various sizes/scopes. Experience conducting literature reviews to identify evidence-informed practices and policies for the purpose of curriculum development.
