The role

:

We have an immediate opening for a Senior IT Systems Administrator . In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure to support our mission of advancing clean technology solutions. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network, servers, and client systems, while also overseeing security measures to protect our data and operations.

This is an onsite role at our office in Richmond, BC, with limited opportunity for remote work. You must be located in or be willing to relocate to the Lower Mainland.

Your primary areas of responsibility are:
System Administration:

Server/client system management and configuration. Administer Microsoft and Microsoft and Linux VM environments. Configure, troubleshoot and optimize Linux systems across various distributions. Oversee the operation and support of ERP software. Install, configure, and maintain end-user devices. Network Security: Ensure network security and stability across local and cloud-based environments. Implement and oversee security protocols to safeguard data and network operations. Conduct regular system audits to detect vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Maintain data backups to ensure data integrity and availability. Technical Support: Provide direct technical support for IT infrastructure and end-user issues. Resolve technical challenges promptly and efficiently in compliance with company policies. Project Management: Collaborate with IT Manager and project stakeholders to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments. Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of products and services. You will be a great fit if you have: A degree, diploma, or certificate in Information Technology or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system and network administration, including but not limited to Microsoft , Microsoft VMs, Cloud Services, and Linux systems. Experience with PowerShell, Bash, and other scripting languages. Experience dealing with IT systems in a large manufacturing environment. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Experience with database administration tasks for SQL and other databases. Relevant certifications in IT or clean technology. Proficiency in coding and database skills, especially in PHP, Python, SQL, and Docker.
