Job Description
Located in the historic Hudson’s Bay building in downtown Calgary, The Guild is open for all-day dining, drinks and private events. Spanning two floors and featuring one of Calgary’s largest patios, The Guild is a nod to the guildhalls of the past, which served as meeting places for artists and merchants.
The Day to Day:
You are keen to acquire new skills and take direction, feedback, coaching from your from Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager You’re enthusiastic about the service ahead and proactively prepare, and organize your station of according to O&B standards You value the recipes, portion controls and presentation specification as set by the restaurant You easily maintain a prep list of station duties You understand the importance of the FIFO method to maximize freshness You’re a team player and step in to assist with receiving and storing delivered items You’re like us, fanatical about cleanliness of food prep areas, equipment, utensils and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines Strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required
Qualifications
1-2 years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant Culinary diploma/degree is an asset Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure Able to spend 100% of the time standing Serve Safe certified
