Position Overview

These qualities make you a perfect candidate for our Senior Project Development Engineer. In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of projects in their development phase, including all applicable scopes of work, financials and scheduling. You’ll be accountible for the analysis and development of this portfolio of capital work.

In year 1, you will:
  • Utilize existing systems to manage project development financials (Copperleaf C55 and SAP), Microsoft Project and schedule progress (Primavera P6), including monthly reporting. 
  • Manage day-to-day analysis and project development activities while familiarizing yourself with our project development processes.
  • Deliver and defend preliminary reports and studies required to execute our capital plans successfully.
In year 2, you will:
  • Deliver preliminary reports and studies required to support our long-term capital plans.
  • Identify and propose improvements to our project development process pertaining to the sustainment and growth capital plan.
  • Review recently completed projects against estimates and manage the updates within our tools and databases.
What it takes:
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized program, plus 8 to 12 years related experience in an engineering and leadership capacity.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Exceptional organization with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deadline driven and an ability to influence others to achieve successful results.
  • Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures, including matters related to labour relations, recruitment and performance management.
