To join an exciting team in the South Zone as the Human Resources Advisor who provides proactive advice to clients on issues from complex investigations to succession planning and everything in between the life cycle of an employee. If you are an individual with initiative and looking for an opportunity to prove your abilities, the Human Resources Advisor position will allow you to excel in the South Zone with support from an experienced and seasoned team of professionals.

Description:

The HR Advisor works with a high degree of independence and in concert with HR Specialists and service centers to plan and implement HR processes in line with policies, legislation and collective agreements. Functional responsibilities include labor relations; performance / issue management; interpretation of collective agreements; consultation on recruitment; classification and compensation, with formulation of recommendations on the letter for non-union exempt and effective recommendation / decision on in-scope positions. This position will interpret client needs, assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard issues and requests including engagement of Human Resources specialist as required. The Human Resources Advisor works to ensure Alberta Health Services and Human Resources values, goals and principles are implemented and integrated in the delivery of human resource services to client groups. An important part of the Human Resources Advisor role is fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with AHS managers, HR networks, service centers, and Union representatives.

Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals and manage within the unionized sector. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective leadership abilities combined with a strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

CPHR or other recognized designation is preferred.
