NSB Omega is searching for a Senior Emissions Management Engineer/Advisor - Reporting for our MAJOR oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB. 

Assignment Description

The main deliverables of this role are to support the existing SMEs with: 

• Greenhouse gas and criteria air contaminant emissions quantification and reporting. 
• Emissions data compilation for internal and external reporting. 
• Emissions compliance support for internal stakeholder (operations and projects).

The applicant will be required to embrace change and be agile handing multiple requests and requirements adhering to timelines, under the direction of Senior Engineers/Advisors who have overall accountability for their portfolios.

This role is suited to an applicant that wants to gain or expand knowledge regarding air emissions regulations, compliance reporting, supporting internal stakeholders regarding air emissions data, programs, and requirements.

As an individual contributor the applicant will be required to work with subject matter experts from many different functions within the Company.

Responsibilities:  Reporting to the Manager of the Air Emissions Management team, the incumbent will be responsible to provide support and technical guidance for emission reporting programs related to Federal and Provincial air emission regulations, (Greenhouse Gas and Criteria Air Contaminant reporting programs). This role requires competencies related to effective communications, change agility, collaboration, organizational aspects and driving results while working with multi-disciplinary teams. This position also supports the Clients’ companywide air emissions data that is required for corporate performance metrics and internal/external reporting. 

Responsibilities will be overseen by the teams’ Senior Emissions Management Engineers/Advisors and will comprise of the following:
• Gather and organize operational and volumetric data to support emissions reporting. 
• Support Greenhouse Gas and compliance reporting aspects as directed by the SMEs for Upstream (BC, AB, SK) facilities and sites, Midstream (AB, SK) facilities and Downstream (AB, SK) facilities. 
• Compile emissions data using dashboards, software, and visualizations. 
• Complete annual reports for Government agencies through external reporting platforms. 
• Support technical questions and projects regarding compliance with existing and emerging regulations.
• Provide additional support for other air emission compliance programs as required. 
• Supporting data compilation and quality assurance activities associated with corporate emissions forecasting and internal/external reporting of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions).

Deliverables: Support daily requirements of: Greenhouse gas and criteria air contaminant emissions quantification and reporting. Emissions data compilation for internal and external reporting. Emissions compliance support for internal stakeholder (operations and projects).

Qualifications Required 
• Completion of post-secondary education (Bachelors Degree/Diploma) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or relevant studies. •Prefer professional designation with a recognized association (APEGA, ASET, others). 
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in air emissions management, environmental, engineering, or related field. (Consideration will be given to applicants with less than 8 years of experience based on technical skills applicable to the related responsibilities and/or the oil and gas industry). 
• Understanding of Federal and Provincial air emission reporting and compliance requirements in Canada. 
• Familiarity with Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions & reporting. 
• Excellent collaboration, written and oral communication, organizational, and time management skills. 
• Ability to learn new concepts and systems quickly while delivering results in a timely manner. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office, emissions aggregation software and/or data analytics systems (Spotfire/Power BI)
