Reporting to the Manager of Medical Affairs, the CredentialingAdministrator is responsible for ensuring the

comprehensive credentialing process is adhered to as per thePublic Hospitals Act (PHA), the Northwest Regional

Credentialing Policy and Procedure and the bylaws of the TBRHSCand SJCG for the appointment and

reappointment of the Professional Staff. The CredentialingAdministrator works closely with the regional

organizations of the NW LHIN through the Northwest RegionalCredentialing System (NRECS) and the Regional

Credentialing policy. This position is also responsible forcoordinating a hospital orientation for the new Professional

Staff member with the necessary managers and directors of theorganization. He/she is responsible for ensuring

each professional staff member is entered into the hospitalcomputer system and granted the appropriate allowances

specific to their appointment.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

*Graduate from a recognized secretarial course.

*Completed course in medical terminology.

*Five + years working in the medical field.

*Must possess excellent interpersonal and public relations skills,including both verbal and written communication.

*Must be self‑motivated with excellent organizationalabilities and the ability to work independently with minimum

supervision.

*Knowledge of Public Hospital's Act, Hospital Bylaws, Rules andRegulations.

*Knowledge of various licencing bodies for each discipline.

Proficiency in computer applications using Microsoft Office,Groupwise, Meditech (Provider Dictionary).

*Use of dictaphone/transcription equipment and software.

*Demonstrated initiative and good judgment in problem‑solvingand decision‑making.

*Ability to prioritize a heavy workload and multi‑task.

*Ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamworkenvironment.

*Ability to work flexible work hours for some after hours meetingobligations.

*Demonstrated commitment to continued professional and personalgrowth and development through continuing

education programs and self‑directed learning opportunities.

*Must be knowledgeable of the various health care services withinthe community.

*Must have regular work attendance.

Salary Range: $35.674 to 41.970
