Course Number and Title: PSY352H5 S • Animal Behaviour

Course Description: An introduction to animal behaviour from a biological perspective, stressing ecological and evolutionary aspects of behaviour. The course will review the neural, endocrine and physiological mechanisms mediating animals' natural behaviours, as well as how gene-environment interactions during development modify these behavioural mechanisms.

Salary: (In accordance with CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement):

 $9,457.90 for Sessional Lecturer I  $9,930.79 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term  $10,121.77 for Sessional Lecturer II  $10,362.76 for Sessional Lecturer Ill

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.


Qualifications: The candidate must have a Ph.D degree or be in the final stages of a PhD. The decision on hiring will be based on previous teaching experience in this course or other similar courses, academic qualifications and suitability for the position.

Description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course content; creation of course material, development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; the supervision of teaching assistants for leading tutorials and grading and marking student work; submission of final grades to appropriate University officials in accordance with policy; the maintenance of reasonable hours for student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
