Position Title: Foundry General Laborer.
Main functions: Secondary operations in an aluminum foundry:
  • Ensure all duties are being performed following safe work practices at all times and do not present a safety hazard to employees.
  • Follow scheduling documentation to ensure designated parts are shipped to the next department.
  • Remove excess flashing from castings.
  • Follow operator's instructions in work packages.
  • Move, place and adjust heating torches on molds.
  • Ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public.
  • Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal.
  • Prep and shake sand cores.
  • Completes work package documentation. 
  • Clean work areas and equipment.

Working conditions:
  • Works 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday.
  • Foundry General Laborer/ Forklift Driver has frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people through the department.
  • Foundry General Laborer frequently changing priorities.
  • Foundry General Laborer may be required to work overtime with paid compensation.

Employment Requirements:
  • WHMIS Certification.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Reliable.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Multi-task.
