DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactively identify opportunities to quote plumbing & electrical equipment in Residential, Commercial & Small Industrial ProjectsRespond to customer inquiries related to plumbing & heating quotes and/or redirect the customer to the appropriate departmentCommunicate project details, obtain, and review material quotes from vendorsPrepare and provide quotes for new and existing customers, contractors, and sales managers Quote recommended equivalent/alternate products based on cost, availability, and/or specificationsProvide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items Liaise between suppliers’ reps and customers for all inquiries, lead, and delivery times, to meet tender deadlinesProvide clarification on engineering specifications sheets, plans, contractor takeoffs, and addendumsCoordinate with other departments, particularly electrical, for business opportunitiesMaintain project documents both physical and electronic versionsEntering projects and details in shared networks and Google networks Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes, or returns Review the quotes for errors or missed items Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions Stay current with up-to-date product knowledge of all plumbing & heating equipment Educate customers about terminology, features, and benefits of products to improve product-related sales and customer satisfactionIdentify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction Create PDF files of specification sheets, that are job-specific for project submittals and Owner operation manualsPrioritize projects of importance and/or urgent requests when possibleOther responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Exceptional customer serviceEffective planning to achieve goals and deadlines including organization and prioritizingSelf-motivated with efficient multi-tasking and time management skillsProven ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong analytical skills and problem-solving skills; ability to make quick decisionsAlways present a professional image to customers and vendorsAttention to detail; ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering informationProficient in using a personal computer, data entry terminal, and other common office equipment and software

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 2 years sales experience (counter sales, inside sales, or outside sales) requiredKnowledge of or previous experience in the Plumbing or Heating wholesale industry required Previous experience and/or education in Project Management an assetBasic understanding of reading blueprints an asset.

Final candidates will be required to undergo an assessment and security screening, including a criminal record check. Employment is subject to screening completion that is satisfactory to Bartle & Gibson.
