About the Position:

This is a full-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing & Recruitment, working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $35.06

This position helps to achieve enrolment by promoting Lambton College as the higher learning institution of choice for prospective students. The incumbent is responsible for being knowledgeable in all programs and services to inform, recruit, market and advise prospective students and target audiences on programs to market all that Lambton College has to offer. This position helps to support enrolment targets by securing the best possible applicant pool for selection into all programs through the implementation of tactics in the Annual Recruitment Plan.

This role is crucial in enhancing the public image of the College throughout the province. Extensive travel is required from September to December and March to May each year to fulfill these responsibilities effectively.

The successful candidate will be required to show proof of a valid Ontario driver's license, as well as provide a recent & up to date Vulnerable Sector Check as their own expense.

Specific Accountabilities:

•Works with Senior Director, Associate Director and other Enrolment Advisors to help to achieve enrollment targets by planning, developing, scheduling, and delivering comprehensive and accurate information in many formats including one-on-one consultations, recruitment activities on and off-campus, and college events. Target audiences include: potential students, counsellors and parents who are hosted at local, regional and provincial events. This position is off campus a great deal of the time.

•Implements, tracks and compares results and interest on telephone and electronic follow-up campaigns to reach and “close” potential students and non confirmed applicants.

•Makes recommendations on recruitment opportunities and initiatives that will increase information dissemination to prospective students, including direct and non-direct audiences, as well as secondary stakeholders (parents, guidance counsellors, teachers, government counsellors).

•Develops and maintains positive liaison between Lambton’s government, high school counselling and teachers including booking appointments and sharing information to maximize potential to meet enrolment targets.

•The incumbent supports the use of Salesforce ). This position will actively participate in the use of Salesforce for recruiting students at Lambton and when required offering expert insight and guidance to redesign or implement new web-enabled software and functions.

Qualifications:

•Minimum 2 year post secondary diploma Marketing, Business, Recruitment, Customer Service, Counselling, Communications or a related field
•3+ years of recent related work experience in recruitment, marketing/public relations/sales environment with a focus on deadline oriented multi-tasking experience and event management
•Demonstrates persuasive public speaking experience, with attention to diction
•Demonstrates experience in strategizing, coordinating and evaluating a successful marketing campaign
•Demonstrated customer service skills
•Experience in working with youth (16-25 years of age)
•Sound knowledge of current technology including PowerPoint, internet research, Excel, Access and Word
•Highly developed analytical skills to understand and synthesize complex information and data from a wide variety of sources to identify opportunity and develop appropriate recruitment strategies
•Solid understanding of many levels of provincial education, current as well as career, labour market, economic and social trends
•Well-developed organizational skills when dealing with marketing projects/special events
•Well-developed English writing and speaking skills, to be able to come to an agreement on objectives, plans and strategies with both internal and external groups
•Excellent customer service, sales, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
•The ability to work independently, to establish and meet priorities and exercise good judgement
