Our client, a key player in the agri-food industry, is looking for a Production Planner. This is a permanent position located in Montreal, offering opportunities for career advancement.

The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating production schedules and product transfers across multiple production sites and warehouses. Working closely with sales, operations, and the supply chain, this role ensures stock availability and resource optimization, considering sales forecasts and seasonality. The objective is to meet customer needs while minimizing stockouts and maximizing supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with logistics, sales, operations, and purchasing departments to plan production, packaging, and shipping capacities.
  • Update MRP systems daily and coordinate production flow for multiple products.
  • Set operational priorities to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
  • Identify and resolve production chain issues to prevent disruptions.
  • Manage stock transfers between different sites, including seasonal and unplanned forecasts.
  • Monitor inventory levels across warehouses and ensure the availability of products to meet customer orders.
  • Implement and optimize regional S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) processes.
  • Plan and coordinate inventory transfers and transportation operations (trucks, railcars) between sites.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to determine storage capacities and future needs.
Requirements and Skills:
  • University degree in logistics or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the agri-food or retail sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, TMS) and MRP tools.
  • In-depth understanding of production planning, quality control, and inventory management.
  • Experience in project management with a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
