GeoVerra is seeking a talented CAD Technologist to join our fun and fast-paced Production team in the Saskatchewan region. The primary purpose of this role is the production of CAD drawings under the mentorship and guidance of the CAD Team Lead and Supervisor.
The successful candidate must be located in one of the following locations in Saskatchewan: Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Weyburn or Yorkton. What you will do: Produce and maintain Saskatchewan and Manitoba upstream survey plans, municipal plans, civil plans, photo mosaics, record drawings and the collection, analysis, storage, distribution, and application of spatial and three-dimensional data used in land development. Ensure that assignment requirements are understood and allocate time appropriately to complete the assigned tasks according to project deadlines. Self-check assignments prior to drawings being given to the CAD Team Lead for final approval. Adhere to current CAD standards and provide feedback as required. Adhere to the use of current departmental check sheets and workflow procedures. Ensure drawings meet client timelines and deliverables. Other tasks as required, including but not limited to:Assist in the development of CAD standards and procedures.Support the CAD Team Lead in coordinating and mentoring junior staff regarding CAD standards and accuracy requirements. What you will bring: Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline; or certification in related CAD courses will be considered an asset. An understanding of CAD requirements on various surveying projects. Working knowledge of legal land survey system. 4-6 years direct related experience as a CAD Technologist. Experienced in the use of the latest versions of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Coordinate Geometry software. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization. Ability to work both independently and under supervision while displaying effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good analytical skills and keen attention to detail. Knowledge of civil engineering design components, alignments, grading, volumes and site construction works. Must be able to import data and create plans of surveys. Must maintain a strong technological base and be able to maintain a high level of production. Adaptable and able to think outside the box. Proactively identify issues and problem solving. Willingness and ability to support and mentor/teach other members of the team. Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and your peers.
