Brandt is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on automation to join their Plant Design & Integration Team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for working with Design Engineering, Tooling/Fixturing, and Operations to scale up robotic welding operations, optimize product quality, and implement design for manufacturing methodologies that will create synergy with automated systems. Your overarching goal is to improve upon and standardize robotic welding and automated systems with an engineering approach. You will be part of a team that is the central link between design, operations, and production with an emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Continuously improve Automation systems with a focus on methodical problem-solving and root cause analysis
  2. Development and implementation of robotic welding fixtures and processes to support the Brandt automation group
  3. Use 3D CAD programs to assess and improve robotic welding operations
  4. Evaluation, selection, and commissioning of automated equipment
  5. Design other manufacturing equipment and tooling as required
  6. Manage design for manufacturing initiatives for new product launches
  7. Assist with product cost reduction projects
  8. Assist with manufacturing process design and optimization
  9. Assist in standardization of processes across all manufacturing facilities
  10. Share best practices and implement proven solutions
  11. Documenting process methods and develop standard operating procedures
  12. Assist in capital projects from concept to implementation
  13. Other duties as assigned #LI-onsite
Required Skills

Experience in CAD/SolidWorks or other 3D modeling is required
An engineering degree or mechanical technologist diploma is required
Knowledge of commonly used practices and equipment used in manufacturing
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience is preferred
Strong project management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
Must be familiar with quality and lean principles
Must be self-motivated
Must be well-organized with multi-tasking abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
Excellent work ethic

Required Experience
