Position

 Planner, Mill Maintenance, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Mill Manager, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance; Apply all applicable regulations, codes, and company/site standards to all maintenance activities; Manage a computerized preventive maintenance program, such as SAP to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life; Prepare and compile reports, charts, databases, and historical files of maintenance planning and scheduling activities; Coordinate with purchasing/warehouse to ensure spare parts and supplies are readily available; Regularly review equipment drawings and manuals for repair and PM accuracy; Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOM) based on critical analysis of major plant equipment; Complete plant maintenance schedules on time with quality results; Respond promptly to unplanned mill shutdown with the material and manpower, demonstrating high electro-mechanical aptitude with an advanced level of troubleshooting; Review Work Orders and Planned Projects daily to ensure seamless cradle-to-grave Work Order completion; Manage weekly planning and scheduling of PMs and corrective work completed; Schedule, coordinate, and lead mill maintenance weekly, pre-and post-shutdown meetings; and Monitor work conducted during shutdowns to identify and suggest opportunities for process improvement.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Eight (8) years’ of mechanical/electrical maintenance planning experience in gold or other processing plants; Degree in engineering, metallurgy, mineral processing, project management or extensive relevant industry experience; Extensive experience and exposure to CMMS systems – SAP experience is required; Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with plant equipment; and Strong organizational, presentation, people mentoring, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
