We are looking for a seasoned Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Data Tester to join our Calgary logistics client on an initial 6-month contract. As a key member, you will leverage your expertise in ETL technologies, dashboard testing, and master data validation to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data warehouse and business intelligence reports, primarily using Power BI and Qlik. Responsibilities
1. ETL Testing:
a. Validate ETL processes to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading.
b. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for ETL processes.
c. Identify, document, and track defects in the ETL processes and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.

2. Dashboard Testing:
a. Conduct end-to-end testing of dashboards and reports primarily in Power BI and Qlik.
b. Verify data accuracy, consistency, and performance in dashboards and reports.
c. Collaborate with BI developers to ensure that dashboard functionalities meet user requirements.

3. Master Data Testing:
a. Test and validate master data management processes to ensure data integrity and consistency.
b. Perform data profiling and data quality assessments.
c. Ensure that master data aligns with business rules and standards.

4. Data Warehouse Testing:
a. Validate data warehouse design and architecture to ensure scalability and performance.
b. Conduct comprehensive testing on data integration and data migration processes.
c. Ensure that data warehouse solutions meet business requirements and performance benchmarks.

5. Automation and Tool Utilization:
a. Implement test automation scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.
b. Utilize testing tools and frameworks to perform manual and automated testing.
c. Stay updated with the latest QA tools and methodologies to continuously improve the QA processes.

6. Documentation and Reporting:
a. Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
b. Document and communicate test results, issues, and defects to stakeholders.
c. Generate comprehensive test reports and dashboards for executive review.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 Years of Data Management and BI development and testing,
- Minimum 3 years of SDLC or testing team management experience,
- Large complex system integration projects experiences
- Proven track record in ETL, dashboard, master data, and data warehouse testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of ETL technologies and processes.
- Expertise in testing dashboards and reports, particularly in Power BI and Qlik.
- Strong knowledge of master data management and data quality principles.
- Proficiency in data warehouse concepts, design, and testing.
- Tools and Technologies:
- Hands-on experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., ADO, JIRA, Qtest, Tosca)
- Proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing.
- Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages.

Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
