The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences invitesapplications, from qualified individuals, for an Academic Associate [limitedterm with the possibility of renewal] position in the field of IndustrialEngineering. This position reports to the Dean of Engineering and AppliedSciences. This position is subject to budgetary approval, and would start on July1, 2024 , or as soon as it is filled.

The candidate should possess a  in IndustrialEngineering or any other related field, a strong academic background, and anestablished record of excellence in innovative and scholarly research leadingto peer-reviewed publications. The candidate must be registered or eligible forand committed to registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng) in the Provinceof Ontario. Related industrial experience or academic leadership experiencewould be considered an asset. The candidate must also demonstrate strongpotential for outstanding teaching contributions. In addition, candidatesshould possess excellent English language skills demonstrating an ability toensure strong, two-way communications on an ongoing basis that contribute tocollaborative/collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, and thecommunity at large.

The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering offersHonours undergraduate degrees in Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering.The Department also offers the corresponding Engineering and Management degreesfor all the programs. In addition, the Department offers Master’s (MASc andMEng) and PhD programs in Mechanical Engineering (with variousspecializations), and a graduate program (MEng) in Engineering Management. TheDepartment is committed to excellence and innovation in interdisciplinaryteaching and research, which is relevant to the needs of society and the localcommunity. The Department promotes these ideals by emphasizing the integrationof knowledge and technology to provide learning and research opportunities forstudents.

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
