As a Cloud Security Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on various challenges. The ideal candidate will have a knack for understanding security threats in a cloud environment. You will utilize your top-notch analytical skills, your hands-on security and development experience; to provide actionable guidance to various internal teams to ensure the highest level of security for Verafin’s cloud infrastructure.

Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to help shift security left in the organization and assist cloud developers in improving security controls as they build providing enhanced security solutions to mitigate security risks.

Role Responsibilities

ProvidingAWS cloud security guidance to internal teams to implement technical controls and mitigations for enterprise level applications and systems

Assessing and reviewing architecture designs for security 

Designing and deploying cloud solutions to improve the overall security posture of the environment 

Deploying and managing CI/CD security tools to scan Terraform code aswell as collaborating with developers to address findings 

Continuously staying up to date withemerging AWS cloud security threats and controls

Assistingwith incident response as well as operational duties such as reviewing pull requests

Essential Skills & Qualifications

A university degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

3+ years Cloud Security or similar experience

An understanding of information security controls, governance principles frameworks as well as familiarity with security patterns and architectures (such as the AWS Well Architected Framework)

Experience implementing technical AWS Security controls and mitigations for enterprise level applications and systems

Experience in assessing and reviewing architecture designs for security as well as designing and deploying cloud applications yourself

Solid, practical grasp of IAM and networking within cloud environments, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of cloud-based systems and data

Experience in deploying enterprise level infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform 

PreviousDevSecOps experience in CI/CD pipeline development to “Shift Left” is a plus 

Certifications such as CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect, and AWS Security Specialty are a plus

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Bash

Excellent ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts and recommendations to a technical and non-technical audience 

Continuous learning mindset, with a passion for staying up to date with the latest developments in cloud security.

Ability to work both independently and in a team, as well as the ability to multi-task and be a proactive member of the team
