Your Opportunity:

This position is located in High River, Alberta at the High River Hospital. The Pharmacist will help support the provision of Pharmaceutical Services and Drug Distributions functions for Inpatients. The position will require active participation on multidisciplinary patient care teams, working with other health care professionals and the provision of drug information to Pharmacy, Nursing, medicine and other multidisciplinary team members. This position encompasses supervisory functions, committee & project work and teaching of staff and students.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Hospital experience working w/multidisciplinary teams. 2-4 years clinical experience in a specialized program, checking oncology products, preferably Cancer Care trained & certified. Connect Care experience. Project/committee participation, supervisory & staff training an asset. Authorized to administer injection. Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care. Demonstrates good time management, capable of making decisions, working independently & cooperatively in team settings.
