The Maintenance Manager’s role is to provide leadership to a 40-person maintenance department consisting of journeymen tradespersons as well as support personnel. This department is responsible for maintaining all equipment, property, buildings, and grounds of the Innisfail manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Manager will be primarily responsible for department safety performance, creation and achievement of the maintenance budget, and continuation of the existing AC&R program to deliver targeted uptime of the continuous operation production lines.
Your Day to Day:
Set direction for department personnel to achieve a zero recordable incident environment Help develop and then manage budgets for both maintenance materials and maintenance labor Effectively utilize preventative and predictive maintenance systems to ensure asset life and reliability Promote the use of failure analysis tools to reduce equipment downtime causes in order to achieve industry leading line uptime Oversee the operation of the MRO storeroom Manage multiple capital projects, related to safety, asset replacement and productivity improvements, within approved timelines and budgets Maintain and enforce good housekeeping strategies and methodologies Provide leadership and inspire high team performance through effective goal setting and performance measurement Identify needs for major equipment repair and replacement, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, costs, environmental stewardship and safety. Partner with Human Resources to recruit new maintenance employees in order to maintain a high performing team and ensure consistent application of HR related policies and practices Facilitate and document training and lead team-based process and equipment improvements Partners with Production and Process Department to accommodate predictive maintenance activities, minimize downtime and scrap, and provide feedback regarding the status and availability of production equipment to Production ManagerWhat You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or; a ticketed Journeyman Electrician or; a ticketed Journeyman Millwright or; equivalent experience will be considered 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and 3 years supervisory experience Demonstrated managerial experience, responsibility for performance, hiring, and discipline. Working knowledge of maintenance processes/systems in manufacturing operation Demonstrated ability to adhere to and develop work processes and systems Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate sustainable change Demonstrated project management skills Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and implement safety/process related requests Proven analytical and quality improvement ability Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Preference will be given to candidates with experience in SAP maintenance management system Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside of normal work schedulePlease Keep in Mind
