Overview

This is an exciting Engineering opportunity to make a difference in the growing alternative fuels industry. We’re looking for energetic and motivated team members to further improve our product offerings for H2 and CNG components. This role is focused on CAD design, including 2D & 3D as well as change management for both current products and new products.

Position Responsibilities:

Design tasks for assigned H2 & CNG projects, from concept CAD generation through to production release Use Solidworks for design tasks Dimension drawings via appropriate GD&T standards Make measurements, volume calculations, area calculations etc using Solidworks Create & process engineering change orders via change management system Provide technical support to purchasing, production, customer service and quality assurance Participate on 8D problem solving teams when necessary

Promote Westport’s H&S culture following all Environmental, and H&S procedures and understanding your obligations and responsibilities Report unsafe conditions, behaviors and all accidents Co-operate with JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) and Safety representative

Position Requirements:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology Minimum two years of SolidWorks experience is mandatory. GD&T experience is mandatory Product Data Management (PDM) system experience such as SolidWorks EPDM is an asset Experience with design of high-pressure components/valves/actuators is considered an asset Understanding of industry & regulatory requirements is considered an asset Tier 1 or Tier 2 Automotive experience is an asset Places importance on attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards Capable of working in a pro-active manner with minimal supervision Ability to respond to frequent demands in order to meet deadlines Good mechanical aptitude and hands on skills considered an asset Experience with design of high-pressure components/valves/actuators is considered an asset Understanding of industry & regulatory requirements is considered an asset Effective communication skills & ability to work within a team Good organization skills, including task & priority management Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Salary Range

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $60,000 to $75,000. Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
