CAD Designer [6 Month Contract]-CAN-ON-Cambridge
GFI, a Westport Fuel Systems company, designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This is an exciting Engineering opportunity to make a difference in the growing alternative fuels industry. This role is focused on CAD design, including 2D & 3D as well as change management for both current products and new products.
Design tasks for assigned H2 & CNG projects, from concept CAD generation through to production release
Make measurements, volume calculations, area calculations etc using Solidworks
Create & process engineering change orders via change management system
Provide technical support to purchasing, production, customer service and quality assurance
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
Minimum two years of SolidWorks experience is mandatory.
Product Data Management (PDM) system experience such as SolidWorks EPDM is an asset
Experience with design of high-pressure components/valves/actuators is considered an asset
Understanding of industry & regulatory requirements is considered an asset
Tier 1 or Tier 2 Automotive experience is an asset
Places importance on attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards
Good mechanical aptitude and hands on skills considered an asset
Experience with design of high-pressure components/valves/actuators is considered an asset
