The Role

:

As the Accounts Receivable Specialist at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge your main responsibilities will be to ensure all billing is accurately prepared, ensure all enquiries are responded to within 24-hours, review all contracts and cancellations to ensure that attrition or cancellation fees are collected, pursue and collect delinquent accounts, ensure proper maintenance of the Guest and City Ledgers, maintain aged trial balance within Pomeroy corporate guidelines, and assist in the preparation of month-end journal entries. Additionally, you will reconcile and process balance sheet accounts, assist with year-end audit, along with any other periodic or on-demand requests that will arise.

Job Duties:

Reporting to the Controller the Accounts Receivable Specialist will:

Processing and reconciliation of accounts receivables and payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures Work closely with Sales and Event Managers in regards to billing, contracted rates, and all deposits/prepayments. Attend pre-conference and post-conference meetings for conventions. Attend weekly agenda/resume review meetings. Posting payments and advance deposits. Handling both internal and external guest inquiries. Maintain and manage Guest Ledger & City Ledger. Prepare month-end reports and journal entries. Other duties as assigned.

Employment Experience and Educational Requirements:

Previous Accounts Receivable experience an asset, preferably in the hospitality industry Previous Front Desk and/or Food & Beverage experience required. Proficient in CI/TY (Marriott System), Opera, Excel, Matre’d and Accpac Post secondary education required, preferably Hospitality and/or Accounting based. Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience in MS office, specifically excel and Teams. Strong team player with leadership potential Must possess excellent guest service skills. Self-motivated with proven initiative, and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner. Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle and be willing and able to commute to Kananaskis at least twice a week. Other workdays would be in our corporate office located in Downtown Calgary Very detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
