Job Description Summary:

The Sourcing Specialist role will work with the Client Healthcare Canadian business team to drive regional strategy, productivity, and efficiencies through management of the regional supplier base for the Category MES (Managed Equipment Services) . The role supports region-based business leaders, their teams, and other Client Business Sourcing Leaders for shared spend, initially focused on supplier negotiation of medical equipment and its services for the new and/or installed base for MES program.

In this role suppliers can also be competitors, so candidates will need to have the ability to negotiate complex agreements and write strategic contracts.

Knowledge and expertise in sourcing best practices is required and candidates will be expected to develop an awareness of external competition and factors that differentiate them. Must have the ability to use data analytics and deploy outside the box solutions. Strong negotiation and contracting skills and experience is critical in this role.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Drive business productivity for MES sourcing in Canada, identifying new areas of opportunity to drive cost out, implement operating efficiency and improve productivity.
• Support Sourcing strategy, processes or GEHC policies for their Category and region by negotiating with key parts and service suppliers. Ensure regional fit and incorporate business CTQ's (critical to quality).
• Owns spend analysis in order to identify and build a funnel productivity projects in order to achieve savings targets for Category across Region. Partner with the Sourcing and Multivendor Service business team to lead and own project execution in the Canada location. Will support project execution & escalation for projects managed by Regional Sourcing Leaders within their Category across the Region.
• Responsible for risk management in the supplier base ensuring all compliance and quality standards are met.
• Liaise with Regional Sourcing Leaders to share best practices and leverage expertise across the Category.
• Support the Service sourcing team in spend and supplier classification activities which will help drive business metrics. Lead or participate in supplier business reviews with the business team to monitor quality and performance metrics. Identify new areas of opportunity to drive cost out, negotiate contractual terms and conditions and improve productivity.
• Collaborate with other sourcing category and program teams on initiatives to ensure alignment with global sourcing strategy and cross GEHC spend. Has the ability to think globally and work x-region.
• Drive compliance with Preferred Suppliers across the region and work with stakeholders to reduce leakage

Quality Specific Goals:
• Aware of and comply with GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to their Category
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
• Knowledge and understanding of GEHC Purchasing Controls Procedure and associated Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that all purchased product and services conform to specified requirements.
• Develop and maintain a qualified and compliant supply base.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from accredited university and a minimum years of relevant sourcing experience; or High School Diploma and a minimum of years of relevant sourcing experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to drive activities with virtual teams
• Strong negotiator for supplier pricing and terms and contract language

Desired Qualifications:
• Tenacious, good communicator at all levels and across different cultures
• Proven ability to execute and deliver on commitments and targets
• Track record of delivering on multiple projects and/or initiatives including cross border, cross SBU, cost savings, etc.
• Experience with data analysis tools and supply base strategy development to identify cost savings opportunities
• Great stakeholder management - able to understand internal customers' needs and CTQ's (critical to quality) and deliver
• Ability to thrive in a matrix environment and works well under pressure against multiple deadlines and CTQ's
