Design Engineering Manager

This is a fantastic opportunityfor a handson leader to take full ownership of the engineeringfunction focusing on timeliness quality and efficiency whiledriving continuous improvement initiatives.
Inthis role the Design EngineeringManager will lead highprofile projects collaboratewith crossfunctional teams and mentor a talented group of designengineers. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fastpacedenvironment bringing strong leadership skills and a proven abilityto deliver toptier engineering results within the automotivemanufacturing sector.
KeyResponsibilities:
Timeliness:
Ensure all engineering project milestones are met from datasubmission to design reviews.
Assign resourcesto projects balancing daily priorities with special initiatives andcontinuous improvement efforts.
Keep projects ontrack ensuring timely delivery aligned with customerexpectations.
Quality:
Leadthe engineering team in producing highquality designs andmaintaining robust project managementprocesses.
Implement andmaintain industrystandard quality control systems across allengineeringactivities.
Serve as a technical liaison between customers and the engineeringteam ensuring designs meet both customer and companystandards.
Efficiency:
Optimize engineering processes to support the manufacturing team indelivering highquality products at the lowest possiblecost.
Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) efforts ensuringdesigns are productionready and efficient tomanufacture.
Strengthen communication between the engineering and manufacturingteams for seamless projectexecution.
ProcessDevelopment & ContinuousImprovement:
Develop and implement standardized engineering processes includinggoalsetting meetings and formalized project planning with clearmilestones.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying informed onthe latest engineering technologies and bestpractices.
Establish feedback loops between manufacturing and engineeringincorporating input from the shop floor into futuredesigns.
Leadership& TeamDevelopment:
Mentor and lead the engineering team providing handson guidance andsupport.
Conduct performance evaluations and set annual targets forindividualengineers.
Identify professional development opportunities to enhance theteams skills andexpertise.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments including production qualityassurance and sales to ensure project alignment and smoothexecution.
Represent the engineering department in customer meetings offeringtechnical insights and ensuring clientsatisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relatedfield.
Atleast 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with aminimum of 3 years in a leadershiprole.
Strong background in automotive manufacturing tool and die orhighpressure diecasting.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and deliver projectson time and withinbudget.
Proficiency in CAD Siemens NX Catia.
Willingness to travel internationally for customer visits (67 timesperyear).
