Plains is seeking two Schedulers to support our Crude and NGL Scheduling departments. Reporting to either the Manager, Crude Asset Scheduling or NGL Asset Scheduling, the successful candidate will be responsible for the logistics of moving crude or NGL products within Plains terminals and pipelines. This is a fast paced, deadline driven role that requires superb organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Plains offers a hybrid work environment in which working from home is combined with working in the Calgary office throughout each week.

Responsibilities:

Daily management and scheduling of crude or NGL volumes from various receipt locations at Plains terminals, fractionation plants, and pipelines, and coordinating deliveries with downstream connecting carriers.

Develop accurate and timely operational pump schedules for internal counterparties such as the control centre and field operations and external counterparties such as shippers and connecting carriers.

Develop and sustain strong customer relationships both externally with shippers, producers, customers, and other pipeline companies as well as internally within Plains.

Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and monthly shipper and customer documentation as per industry and contractual deadlines.

Monitor and manage shipper, producer and customer nominations, transactions, and supply demand imbalances to provide analysis to shippers.

Communicate daily with control centre, field operations and trucking regarding scheduled volume movements to ensure safe and optimal operations.

Optimize system capacity and efficiency through detailed knowledge of assets, customer requirements, contractual commitments, and market conditions.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders on asset activities such as Asset Integrity, Commercial Assets, Business Development, Finance, and Fundamentals.

Maintain knowledge of tariffs, shipper, and joint venture contracts and regulatory obligations; and

Create and managing all external communication to shippers, producers, and interested parties regarding system maintenance, outages, or projects on Plains’ systems.

This position will have a requirement for after hours and weekend work.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or related discipline;

3–5 years of related scheduling or midstream experience;

Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills, advanced Excel preferred;

Detail oriented and accurate with very strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills;

Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively;

Possessing a sense of urgency and accountability and ability to respond to tight deadline requirements;

Strong business aptitude and ability to understand the company’s competitive landscape;

Positive and professional attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment;

Strong communication skills with a proven ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing;

Ability to demonstrate initiative by undertaking tasks independently; and

Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
