Position Summary
Renovator is responsible for all building renovation related duties within their assigned location(s) within a residential multi-family setting.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Carpentry and handyman works including drywall and framingMaintain, repair and renovate wooden structuresInterior carpentryBuild stairs, decks, balconies and other itemsRead and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirementsEstimate material costs, maintain inventoryFit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moldings and hardwareOperate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment in a safe and responsible mannerRemoval and installation of flooring (laminate, lino and carpet)Removal of old furnishings and preparing for renovationsMinor plumbing repairs and renovations, replacing toilet and taps, and pipes, etc.Minor electrical updates including replacement of switches, light fixtures and socketsPatching drywall, painting walls and trimCarpentry work including cutting and installing baseboards, hanging doors, minor kitchen cabinet repairs, removing and installing shelving and cabinetsDelivery, loading and unloading of material and suppliesRemoving debris and maintaining a trash free environmentOther duties relating to upkeep and renovation of buildings as assignedBe available on call on a basis to deal with problems that occur after hours and/or weekendsHelp in maintenance work when required as assigned by regional or facilities managerQualifications and Requirements**
Must possess at least 2 years’ of relevant building renovation work experienceWorking knowledge of renovation and repair of buildings, building systems, respective by-laws and/or regulations an assetPossess own toolsFlexible to work regular work hours and on-call duties/weekends/ after hour emergencies on rotation basis scheduleMust possess valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to use at work.Must successfully complete a security clearance-
