Senior Consultant, Executive Compensation

Job Description
:Reporting to the AVP, Executive Compensation, the Senior Executive Compensation Consultant enables the Total Rewards, HR and enterprise strategies by supporting all aspects of Sun Life’s global executive compensation programs including incentive design, administration and communication, compensation modeling, benchmarking, performance analytics and disclosures. The role is also responsible for Executive Compensation project planning and execution.
What will you do:
Operate with senior levels within the organization to provide professional analytical support for executive compensation programs Participate in senior management / business partner discussions regarding initiatives/changes in organization structures and compensation programs Reinforce Sun Life’s compensation philosophy by recommending business solutions (programs, processes, tools) that are competitive, equitable and pay-for-performance oriented Research, review, communicate and implement appropriate solutions in support of providing an effective executive compensation experience, including presenting findings to senior leaders Handle complex inquiries that have been redirected from HR and business partners Prepare Sr. Executive/board-ready materials with a mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis, working with business partners (e.g., HR, Finance, Client groups) to acquire necessary inputs Flawlessly manage large and complex spreadsheets (e.g., year-end compensation changes for executives globally) Analyze market competitiveness of Sun Life’s compensation programs Maintain a thorough understanding of internal and external compensation design, practices, policies and industry trends to drive recommendations Perform key monthly, quarterly and annual activities to support financial and other reporting Act as a project manager for medium to large compensation-related projects or work streams, managing non-routine and multifaceted projects independently Support other executive compensation projects such as incentive plan design, and analysis related to mergers and acquisitions Liaise with internal and external audit and regulators as neededWhat you need to succeed:
University degree (or equivalent work experience) and 7+ of Human Resources experience; Total Rewards experience is preferred; Strong knowledge of compensation practices and theory; preferably in executive compensation Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required i.e., the ability to create and maintain complex, dynamic spreadsheets and manipulate large datasets; Access experience is an asset Experience in leveraging HR Information Systems to administer compensation programs and extract data for analysis; Workday experience an asset Exceptional analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy (experience with statistics and data visualization technologies such as Tableau is an asset) Bias for continuous improvement and leveraging technology to improve outcomes Excellent interpersonal, communication and consulting skills, incorporating different perspectives, backgrounds and styles Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences clearly and concisely at all organizational levels, making connections between business goals and Total Rewards Solid knowledge and understanding of HR programs and connections Strong project management and planning skills Professionalism and diplomacy pertaining to all areas of discretion and confidentiality Experience in Agile project management considered an asset Knowledge of financial services sector considered an assetWhat's In it for you?
