About the role
On-site | Seasonal | Junior Level
In this role, the successful candidate will perform fire assay analysis on geological samples, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the results while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Crucible management and set up/prepare samples for fusion; Perform fusion and cupellation processes using furnace tools; Ensure all safe work procedures and standard working procedures are strictly adhered to; Ensure cleaning and maintenance schedules are complete; Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality; Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned.About you:
Familiarity with all fire assay methods and their respective digestion volumes and finish methods; Strong analytical and mechanical skills; Organized and highly motivated individual; Detail-oriented individual; Ability to work independently or as part of a team; Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time-critical issues; Basic English communication skills Safety oriented.Required Qualifications:
Completion of High School Education required. Diploma or Degree in Science preferred. Laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment would be an asset.Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 50lbs; Able to work within a hot and dusty environment; Must be willing to comply with the following H&S requirements: Be clean-shaven for Personal Protective Equipment (respirator); Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required; Shower before the end of each shift; Undergo a lead blood test required every six months; Able to stand for a full shift; Possess manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks;Working at ALS

At the time of this posting, the estimate pay is $22.98/hr CAD. Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
