Manager, Business Intelligence position 

You will work out of our Burnaby office 

The Manager, Business Intelligence candidate, will have several years of experience managing and designing operational reporting architecture for a large multi-national organization. You will be an expert in data modeling, analysis, and visualization. The candidate will design data models that effectively support business requirements and be able to think strategically to develop actionable items. The candidate will also ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports. The candidate will also work closely with various stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and data scientists.

Job Duties

Develop enterprise-wide reporting architecture and maintain reporting standards across the organization. Provide subject matter expertise and lead the creation of all deliverable content. Capability to manage projects related to Power BI implementation, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline management. Track record of successfully delivering Business Intelligence solutions that meet business requirements and deadlines. Strong leadership skills to guide a team of Business Intelligence developers and analysts. Mentor and manage a team of analysts, fostering growth and collaboration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, provide insights, and deliver solutions tailored to their business objectives. Create and maintain visually appealing and interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and visual reports in Power BI that present complex data in a clear and concise manner. Analyze and interpret complex data sets to uncover insights and trends, helping make data-driven decisions. Integrate data, alter data, and connect to data sources for business intelligence. Apply advanced data transformation techniques, including data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation, to prepare data for meaningful analysis. Make charts and data documentation that includes descriptions of the techniques, parameters, models, and relationships. Establish security on data and comprehend Business Intelligence application security layer models. Perform rigorous quality assurance testing to validate the accuracy and reliability of reports. Other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

At least 3-5 years of proven experience as a Business Intelligence manager or a similar role Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written Exceptional analytical thinking skills for converting data into illuminating reports. Bachelor's degree with majors in information system or finance Knowledge of data warehousing, data gateway, and data preparation projects Familiarity with the tools and technologies used by the Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS and TSQL, Power Query, MDX, Power BI, and DAX. Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases. Comprehensive understanding of data modeling, administration, and visualization Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products Candidates able to communicate in French is an asset.
