Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Client Support Attendant to join the Adanac Park Lodge team in Vancouver, BC. Are you strong team-player and have a desire to help others? Apply today

As a Client Support Attendant, you will:

Establish a supportive presence that promotes a variety of trauma informed interventions, practices and clinical services that cultivate safety and respect within a long-term care facility. Provide assistance to clients with complex health and cognitive needs and/or their caregivers from various cultural backgrounds by liaising with the clinician and community services, assist nursing staff in monitoring clients’ behaviour, and support the interdisciplinary team during the client care planning process. Act as a member of the on-shift response team for the site’s fire, safety and security functions and intervenes to fire, safety and security related complaints/hazards including non-clinical emergencies and aggression.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Social Services Certificate from a recognized program, Basic Security Training level 1 and 2 Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal with others effectively. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to organize work. Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders, as of October 5, 2023, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received a single dose of the most-recent, updated COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
