Make an impact with our External Financial Advisor team as a Junior Accounting Technician. Responsibilities

Support senior accountants in providing accounting services such as financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to Indigenous communities and organizations. Assist with compliance tasks, including tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Collaborate with team members to understand client needs and contribute to the development of tailored financial solutions. Conduct basic financial assessments and assist in identifying opportunities for improvement within client organizations. Participate in financial fluency initiatives, supporting the delivery of training and education programs to community members. Maintain organized and accurate financial records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Some relevant internship or entry-level accounting experience is preferred, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. Genuine interest in supporting Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
