Our client, a precision machining and part manufacturer located in Vaughan, ON is looking for a Production Scheduler. The Production Scheduler plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle and will consist of planning production, assembly, machining, and delivery schedules. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly production schedules and targets.
  • Balance existing labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput.
  • Examine all aspects of the scheduling process, including historical data, to improve production processes wherever possible.
  • Report to the leadership team regarding existing orders, challenges, and production forecasting
  • Define policies pertaining to stock levels and run sizes liaising with Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering and Production
  • Maintain Production Performance, Customer Delivery Performance, Shop Utilization, and Schedule Attainment data. Record trends and improvements (KPI’s)
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction is continuously met.
  • Distribute dispatch reports and ensure work is planned to meet the production and develop contingency plans for any orders tracking behind to production schedule to ensure 100% on time delivery.
  • Maintain continuous flow of new work into production.
  • Maintain the ERP System.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as required.
  • Maintain long, medium, and short-term planning horizons.
 Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post secondary diploma/degree in a technical, supply chain or business discipline.
  • APICS certification would be a great asset. 
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Production Planning/Scheduling role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (machining is highly desired.)
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems .   
  • Knowledge of and experience in work and material planning policies and procedures in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of programs including Excel/Word.
