Post-Doctoral Fellowship Opportunity – Department of Political Science
Brandon University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Political Science as part of the Open Research Area 7/Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council-funded project, Citizen Inclusion in Power-Sharing Settlements (INCLUSIVEPEACE). The project investigates how power-sharing settlements emerge, perform, and evolve as well as how to negotiate, implement, and adapt the most advantageous trade-offs among parties in conflict. The project also investigates how citizens’ public opinion on powersharing influences the adoption and reform of such settlements.
The successful applicant will have (or be very near completion) a PhD in Political Science, or closely related discipline; an excellent understanding of power-sharing theory and practice; the ability to undertake fieldwork (previous fieldwork experience in Lebanon and/or Bosnia-Herzegovina considered an asset). Preference will be given to candidates with mixed-methods training and experience, including conducting interviews and surveys. The successful candidate should have strong organizational, oral and written communication, and project management skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a research team.
The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be expected to maintain an active research program in the area of the grant and to contribute directly to the project deliverables.
Compensation: $50,000.00 per annum, position is contingent upon available funding. The position is tenable for 12 months, with an ideal start date of September 1, 2024.
