The Millwright Mechanic will be tasked with performing preventative maintenance and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of various assets within the Company. This role involves maintaining and repairing equipment and machinery to minimize production downtime. The Millwright Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep of electrical, mechanical, and other related systems. Candidates must be capable of working effectively both as a team member and independently, adhering to all safety and food safety protocols. Additionally, the role requires tolerance for high temperatures in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address system and equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and modify equipment as needed.
  • Resolve process and production problems to facilitate timely repairs.
  • Complete and manage documentation related to preventative maintenance, repairs, safety, inventory, and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on production and packaging equipment.
  • Utilize welding, fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulic skills for equipment repairs.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including GMP, Quality, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and handle other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Millwright License Required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role, preferably within food industry production lines (cookie or biscuit production preferred).
  • Experience working with leadership teams and managing ongoing initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, leadership abilities, and analytical skills for identifying issues, trends, and solutions. Ability to positively influence team members.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and a commitment to employee safety and well-being.
  • Initiative, self-starter attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
