Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Organizational Development Consultant role is to drive corporate wide initiatives to enhance the employee experience and organizational culture of the WSIB.
This is accomplished by designing, developing and executing key initiatives such as: WSIB’s
Corporate recognition program, Employee Experience survey and Enterprise action planning, Strategic Workforce Planning, Performance Management program, Corporate Values and competencies as well as the Onboarding and off-boarding processes (including exit surveying).

The key to success in this role is to align organizational development solutions to WSIB’s Corporate Strategy, People strategy, organizational values and competencies to ensure the deliverables bring value to the organization now and into the future.

This role provides expert advice and consultation to the Executive Committee and other Senior Management, HR Senior Management Committee and other stakeholders on various organizational development programs and initiatives. Individuals in this role will be required to deliver compelling, engaging and informative presentations to Senior leaders.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Lead the research, design, development and implementation of organizational development initiatives and solutions.

Proactively assess and diagnose organizational needs relative to the strategic needs of the business. Key initiatives may include: Corporate recognition program, Employee Experience survey and Enterprise action planning, Strategic Workforce Planning, Performance Management program, Corporate Values and competencies as well as the Onboarding and off-boarding processes (including exit surveying) for employees and leaders (including orientation and Executive onboarding). Apply a systems thinking (holistic approach) to problem solving when developing a solution or recommendation. This means being able to making distinctions, organizing processes, recognizing relationships and taking multiple perspectives in order provide a suitable and well integrated solution. Align organizational development solutions to WSIB’s Corporate Strategy, People strategy, organizational values and competencies to ensure the deliverables bring value to the organization now and into the future of the workforce. Use evidence and analytical insights to forecast trends and provide advice/ recommendations on organizational development programs and solutions.

2. Provide expert advice, consultation and stakeholder engagement to the Executive Committee and other Senior Management (including HR) and other key stakeholders on various organizational development programs and initiatives to achieve business objectives through the following:

Design and implementation of programs and solutions that represent best practices in the industry contextualized to fit WSIBs unique needs. Demonstrate strong business acumen and significant SME knowledge to link employee experience and culture strategies to business objectives. Act as a SME in providing advice on how to maximize the organizational effectiveness by applying solutions and presenting those solutions to Executives via discussions and/or presentations. Facilitate sessions and provide consultation and/or coaching with colleagues (i.e. Business HR) division to educate and support their knowledge of the programs so that they can effectively support their business areas. Maintain current industry best practices, including thought leadership and research. Develop and maintain strong lines of communication and trust with program partners

3. Lead cross-functional project teams to design and implement enterprise wide organizational effectiveness initiatives to enhance the employee experience and organizational culture of the WSIB. Key initiatives may include:

Corporate recognition program (leading the selection committee), Employee Experience survey and Enterprise action planning (reviewing results and working with business leaders to develop and implement action plans), Strategic Workforce Planning, Performance Management program (leading working group), Corporate Values and competencies as well as the Onboarding and off-boarding processes (including exit surveying) for employees and leaders. Project Manage all aspects of the design, development, implementation and measurement of programs and/or solution(s) by using highly collaborative approaches. This includes partnership with Communications to provide the business with clear, concise and effective communication tactics. Implement continuous improvements to improve the effectiveness of the program(s) and/or solution(s) within the assigned portfolio. Demonstrate strong stakeholder relationships by providing regular updates, seeking feedback on program effectiveness and implementing change management best practices to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the program/solution(s). Cross train in other branch programs and services to enhance the branches ability to provide continuous and agile support to the business. Consistently develop and maintain effective knowledge management resources so that program knowledge can be easier shared with others.

4. Lead the complete procurement and vendor management process for assigned vendors.

Collaborate with external vendors on WSIB projects and programs. Own and manage the vendor relationships and bridge any gaps between external vendor and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive relationship

Job Requirements:

1) Education requirements:

Minimum Level Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR Management, Applied behavioural sciences, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experienced. CHRL

Preferred Level

Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., HR Management, Applied behavioural sciences, industrial organizational psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experienced. Change Management certificate and/or designation Project Management certificate and/or designation An additional level of expertise in another area of Human Resources, Masters Certificate in consulting and/or coaching

2) Experience:

Minimum Level Required

10 years of progressive Human Resources Organizational Development with focus in building organizational effectiveness and Culture (Values/Competencies) Performance Management Engagement survey and action planning Recognitions programs On-off boarding programs Internal consultation experience working with leaders. Project management Political acuity Ability to communicate complex ideas in persuasive and compelling manner both verbally and in writing to all levels of leaders, employees and vendors.
